ATF joining investigation into mosque fire

Editors Note: Just wondering why the ATF has jurisdiction over an arson investigation because "...a mosque was involved."

STOCKTON, Calif. -- Federal investigators are joining the investigation into a fire that destroyed a mosque and damaged a nearby church in Stockton over the weekend.

Helen Dunkel, an investigator with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, told KXTV that the bureau was getting involved in the case because a mosque was involved.

Original tommy gun for auction!

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. -- A gun that was seized as evidence is being auctioned off by Lawrence County.

The district attorney said the gun was seized in an armed robbery and the county has kept it locked up because of its value. The 1928 Thompson Sub Machine Gun is worth thousands, according to district attorney Joshua Lamancusa.

Lamancusa said because the county could use the extra money, they've decided to auction it off.

"This is worth $20,000 to $50,000 and we want to put it out there to the general public to buy. It's a way to pay for a car for the sheriff's department that we need," Lamancusa.

To bid on the gun, call 724-656-1916.

ATF agents say motive of gun smuggling was to hype anti-gun hysteria--and kill

In the days since the story was first reported that the ATF-DOJ concocted a scheme to run or 'walk' U.S. guns into Mexico, various theories have been presented as to the motive. The official explanation is that the U.S. wanted to track the guns as they made their way from Mexican operatives, to the drug cartels, and to the front lines of the cartels' criminal activity, all in an effort to supposedly help the ATF catch drug kingpins. Various other theories have been presented as well, several of which have made their way into the mainstream media--that is, except for the correct one.

"Gun Fight" airs tonight on HBO.

What looks like the newest masterpiece of anti-gun propaganda will be airing tonight on HBO. Yippee.

Doctors are more deadly than guns.

This one has been floating around the net for some time:

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

Now think about this:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is............ 1,500.!!

Statistics courtesy of FBI.

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!! Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

Amazing gun control beliefs

This is the article that started it all. It's been published on hundreds of websites, webcast and broadcast, used in over a dozen magazines. I update it periodically, and it appears here in its latest form. If you're offended, it probably means you've started to think. Keep doing it. You'll annoy a politician.

It's amazing what one has to believe to believe in gun control

by Michael Z. Williamson

That incidents where people shoot criminals in self defense are very rare, and shouldn't be used as excuses to own guns, just as incidents where presidential press secretaries are shot are very rare, and shouldn't be used as excuses to ban guns.

That guns are the real cause of crime, but we will blame and jail the owner of said gun for the crime, even if the owner wasn't the person involved.

That a mugger will kill you in the half-second it takes to draw from the holster, but won't harm you while you dial 911 on your cell phone, talk to the dispatcher and wait half an hour for the cops to arrive.

That gun control works, which is why there are no illegal weapons in Northern Ireland or Beirut.

That the Second Amendment only applies to flintlocks, just as the First Amendment only applies to quills and lead type.

That the proper response to an attack is to call the police, but only unarmed police, because "Violence never settles anything."

Fear of Campus Carry Unfounded

Note: A shortened version of this article was printed in The Ranger, San Antonio College's newspaper. It reached an audience of 6,000, which I'd consider a success for the campus carry crowd. Link.

Fear of campus carry is rampant. Many students are being exposed to anti-gun indoctrination at their schools on a daily basis. The cover of the latest copy of the San Antonio College newspaper depicts a man’s shilloute, dressed in a baggy hood, pointing a gun at the back of an unsuspecting female, with the text, “Armed campus LOOMS.” This obviously plays on student’s fears in order to sway their opinions. The word for this is, “Propaganda."

Students are terrified campus carry will increase the rate of crime at school, and their faculty only fan the flames. There is no reasoning behind these reactions; only purely emotional responses. When we relax and examine the facts intellectually, we discover this hysteria is much ado about nothing.
